Abstract
Americans, particularly younger adult generations, evidence an increasing fascination with socialism. This paper examines the Cold War realities, offering a narrative and personal experience to provide an overview of the consequences of adopting that system and ideology defeated by the English-speaking western nations in 1989–1991. Special attention is given to the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania as an example of socialism.
