Conclusion
Based on the data in this study, the type of self-proning positioning, whether stomach or lateral recumbent, in the awake independent patient effectively improved oxygenation; however, the duration of the effect and prevention of intubation is unclear. Further controlled studies would help strengthen the support of self-proning as a cost-effective, practical consideration, and noninvasive modality in the early management of COVID-19 positive patients with respiratory compromise.
