Abstract

It has been said that we have a greenhouse effect or GHE and that the Earth's atmosphere lets visible light in from the Sun. This heats up the Earth's surface which radiates long wave InfraRed IR radiation. This IR radiation gets trapped in by so called greenhouse gases or GHG's and this heats up the Earth. These GHGs also re-emit back-radiation to the Earth's surface heating the Earth. In this paper it will be shown that the trapping of radiation is false and that back-radiation cannot heat the Earth.
