Autologous skin grafts need to be harvested from various anatomical
sites depending on the age, sex and location of burn injury for the
particular patient [7]. Nevertheless it is important to know, other
things being equal, which anatomical site is preferred for taking skin
grafts. In responding to this question it was found that the thigh
(adults 99%, children 71%) followed by the back (adults 41%, children
25%) were the two preferred locations for harvesting skin grafts
(Figures 5 and 6).
