The participants were asked to list the factors that inhibit healing of
donor site wounds. Fifty nine percent of the respondents stated that
acute and chronic pain leading to anxiety was the number one factor
responsible for inhibiting and delaying the rate of donor site wound
healing (Figure 10). Other issues and problems that were identified
related to initial bleeding, drainage, pseudomonas, desiccation as well
as dressing adherence and movement (Figure 10).
